This is a free event open to all who are interested in  upcycled fashion, but especially helpful for those who are considering  entering a design in the Upcycled Fashion Show on April 27, 2024.

What is Upcycling?  A fun presentation looking at upcycled fashions from practical everyday  wear to imaginative costumes.   We will share information about the  Third Annual Upcycled Fashion Show sponsored by the Governor Wentworth  Arts Council and Makers Mill and how you can participate if you wish.

Clothing Swap Bring your unwanted/ unneeded clothing and fabric items for  free-wheeling trade.  Doesn’t fit?    Not your style any longer?   Curtains, sheets, bedspreads from before you re-decorated?  These could  be the foundation materials for an upcycling project.  Let’s swap  materials and exchange ideas!

Upcoming additional workshops:  For those interested in creating a design to enter in the Upcycled  Fashion Show in April, three workshops are being offered to support  designers with tips and the skills to make their project  successfully.  Participants can choose one or more workshops.

March 9, 10am to 1pm:  Designing & Sewing for Upcycled Fashion

March 23, 10am to 1pm: Closures & Embellishments for Upcycled Fashion

April 6, 10am to 1pm: Finishing & Accessorizing your Upcycled Project

Jeanne Flanagan grew up in a creative family that made everything from  clothes to go-carts.  Here at Makers Mill, Jeanne wears several hats as  the Leader of our Fiber/Crafts Arts Circle and as an instructor. Jeanne  has been a makerspace instructor for many years in MA and has a wealth  of knowledge about fiber arts.
